About Pink Shirt Day

Pink Shirt Day is the day Aotearoa comes together to take a stand against bullying. It has been run by the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand since 2012. 

Bullying takes a toll on mental health. Pink Shirt Day sets out to prevent bullying, by creating spaces where everyone feels safe, valued, and supported. When we lead with kindness, we strengthen mental wellbeing and build environments where bullying can't thrive.

Pink Shirt Day is also about building a nation of Upstanders – people who call out bullying when they see it, and support people who are being bullied.
